डार्विन। कोरोनावायरस के बीच ऑस्ट्रेलिया में दर्शकों के साथ क्रिकेट की वापसी हो रही है। यहां डार्विन शहर में 6 से 8 जून तक सीडीयू टॉप एंड टी-20 टूर्नामेंट खेला जाएगा। इसमें 8 टीमें शामिल होंगी, जो 3 दिन में 15 मैच खेलेंगी। यह सभी मुकाबले राउंड रॉबिन में खेले जाएंगे। दरअसल, डार्विन में 21 मई के बाद कोई कोरोना संक्रमण का मामला सामने नहीं आया है।

इस टूर्नामेंट में 7 डार्विन प्रीमियर ग्रेड क्लब और एक आमंत्रित इलेवन टीम शामिल होगी। इसमें नॉर्दर्न टेरिटरी की ‘एशिया कप’ प्रतियोगिता के सर्वश्रेष्ठ खिलाड़ी शामिल हैं। नॉर्दर्न टेरिटरी क्रिकेट के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी जोएल मॉरिसन ने कहा, ‘‘यह टूर्नामेंट कोरोना की वजह से लगी रोक के बाद क्रिकेट की वापसी का जश्न भी होगा। इसके जरिए मुश्किल दौर से गुजरे लोगों की जिंदगी में खुशियां लाने की कोशिश है।’’

सीडीयू टूर्नामेंट एनटी क्रिकेट और चार्ल्स डार्विन यूनिवर्सिटी मिलकर आयोजित कर रहे हैं। इन मैचों को मार्रा क्रिकेट ग्राउंड, गार्डन ओवल और कैजेली ओवल पर खेला जाएगा। 8 जून को होने वाले एक सेमीफाइनल और ग्रैंड फाइनल की लाइव स्ट्रीमिंग मायक्रिकेट फेसबुक पेज पर होगी।

ऑस्ट्रेलियाई क्रिकेटर डेविड वॉर्नर, स्टीव स्मिथ और पैट कमिंस ने इसी हफ्ते से अपनी ट्रेनिंग शुरू कर दी है। ऑस्ट्रेलिया को अक्टूबर में भारत के साथ तीन टी-20 की घरेलू सीरीज खेलनी है। इसके बाद मेजबान टीम भारत के साथ दिसंबर-जनवरी में 4 टेस्ट और 3 वनडे की सीरीज खेलेगी। सीरीज का शेड्यूल तय कर दिया गया है।
