मुंबई. कोटक महिंद्रा बैंक पर आरबीआई ने 2 करोड़ रुपए का जुर्माना लगाया है। कोटक महिंद्रा प्रमोटर्स की शेयरहोल्डिंग घटाने के निर्देश नहीं मानने पर यह कार्रवाई की गई। आरबीआई ने इस संबंध में पहले ही कारण बताओ नोटिस जारी किया था। आरबीआई संतुष्ट नहीं हुआ कोटक महिंद्रा बैंक के जवाब से,कोटक महिंद्रा बैंक के जवाब, निजी सुनवाई के दौरान दी गई दलील और पेश दस्तावेजों पर विचार करने के बाद आरबीआई संतुष्ट नहीं हुआ और पेनल्टी लगाने का फैसला लिया। कोटक महिंद्रा बैंक ने कहा है कि आरबीआई के आदेश का निरीक्षण किया जा रहा है।
आरबीआई ने 31 दिसंबर 2018 तक शेयरहोल्डिंग घटाकर 20% करने के निर्देश दिए थे। प्रमोटर के पास फिलहाल करीब 30% शेयर हैं। आरबीआई के बैंकिंग लाइसेंस नियमों के मुताबिक निजी बैंक के संचालन के 3 साल में प्रमोटर को अपनी शेयरहोल्डिंग घटाकर 40% तक लानी होती है। संचालन के 10 साल में शेयरहोल्डिंग 20% और 15 साल में 15% पर लाना जरूरी होता है। कोटक महिंद्रा बैंक ने पिछले साल अगस्त में प्रेफरेंस शेयर जारी कर प्रमोटर की शेयरहोल्डिंग घटाकर 19.7% तक लाने का प्रस्ताव दिया था। लेकिन, आरबीआई ने इसे खारिज कर दिया। रिजर्व बैंक का कहा था कि प्रेफरेंस शेयर में मूल शेयर शामिल नहीं होते और प्रमोटर्स को वोटिंग का अधिकार हासिल करने में मदद मिलती है। आरबीआई और कोटक महिंद्रा के विवाद का यह मामला बॉम्बे हाईकोर्ट में चल रहा है।
