नई दिल्ली. आईपीएस ऋषि कुमार शुक्ला को सीबीआई का नया बॉस चुना गया है. प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में सेलेक्ट कमेटी ने उनके नाम पर मुहर लगाई है गौरतल है कि 2 फरवरी से मात्र 4 दिन पहले ही मध्य प्रदेश में कमलनाथ सरकार ने उन्हें डीजीपी के पद से हटा दिया था और उन्हें एमपी पुलिस हाउसिंग बोर्ड का चेयरमैन बना दिया था. पुलिस विभाग में इस पद को डीजीपी के मुकाबले छोटा पद ही माना जाता है. 4 दिनों में आईपीएस ऋषि कुमार शुक्ला के करियर ने जबर्दस्त उछाल भरी और वे देश की प्रीमियम जांच एजेंसी के चीफ बन गए.

बता दें कि ऋषि कुमार शुक्ला को तत्कालीन सीएम शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने 18 जून 2016 को मध्य प्रदेश का डीजीपी बनाया था. उन्हें शिवराज के चहेते अफसरों की कैटेगरी में शामिल किया जाता है. पिछले साल ऋषि कुमार शुक्ला ने तब सबको हैरत में डाल दिया था जब वह सेहत से जुड़े कारणों का हवाला देकर लगभग चुनाव के दौरान ही 16 अक्टूबर को लंबी छुट्टी पर चले गए थे. ऋषि कुमार शुक्ला लगभग डेढ़ महीने तक छुट्टी पर रहे. इस दौरान एमपी के डीजीपी का जिम्मा 1984 बैच के आईपीएस वीके सिंह ने संभाला था.

शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने सीबीआई चीफ चुने जाने पर ऋषि कुमार शुक्ला को बधाई दी है और कहा है कि वह देश की आशाओं पर खरे उतरेंगे. शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने ट्वीट किया, ” मध्यप्रदेश में डीजीपी रहते हुए जिस तरह आईपीएस श्री ऋषि कुमार शुक्ला ने पूरी ईमानदारी और निष्ठा से अपने कर्तव्य का निर्वहन किया, वह अनुकरणीय है. आज फिर आपको सीबीआई चीफ जैसे महत्वपूर्ण पद की जिम्मेदारी दी गई है. मुझे पूर्ण विश्वास है कि आप देश की आशाओं पर खरे उतरेंगे. शुभकामनाएं!”

एमपी में जब कमलनाथ सिंह के नेतृत्व में सरकार बनी तो यह चर्चा आम थी कि सीएम कमलनाथ प्रशासनिक फेरबदल के तहत ऋषि कुमार शुक्ला की छुट्टी कर सकते हैं. हालांकि ऐसा तुरंत नहीं हुआ. लेकिन मध्य प्रदेश में मंदसौर, रतलाम, इंदौर में बीजेपी नेताओं की हत्या के बाद कानून व्यवस्था को लेकर सवाल खड़े हुए. इसके बाद सीएम कमलनाथ ने उन्हें डीजीपी के पद से हटा दिया.

ऋषि कुमार शुक्ला मध्यप्रदेश के ग्वालियर के रहने वाले हैं. उनकी पहली पोस्टिंग सीएसपी रायपुर में हुई थी. इसके बाद वे दमोह, शिवपुरी और मंदसौर जिले के एसपी रहे. 2009 से 2012 तक वह एडीजी इंटेलिजेंस भी रह चुके हैं. इसके बाद जुलाई 2016 से जनवरी 2019 तक मध्यप्रदेश के पुलिस महानिदेशक के पद पर थे.

इधर केन्द्र सरकार को लगातार सीबीआई के लिए नए चीफ की तलाश थी. प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता वाली उच्चस्तरीय चयन समिति की पिछले नौ दिनों में दो बार मीटिंग हुई. इस दौरान कई नामों पर विचार किया गया. माना जाता है इसके लिए शुरुआती स्तर में 70 नामों पर विचार किया गया था. आखिरकार पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी, चीफ जस्टिस रंजन गोगोई और विपक्ष के नेता मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे की मौजूदगी में हुई बैठक में ऋषि कुमार शुक्ला के नाम पर मुहर लगाया गया.

हालांकि ऋषि कुमार शुक्ला का नाम सीबीआई चीफ के लिए फाइनल होते ही विवादों में आ गया. कांग्रेस नेता और चयन समिति के सदस्य मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे ने कहा कि सिर्फ वरिष्ठता के आधार पर सीबीआई चीफ का चयन नहीं होना चाहिए. इसके लिए उन्होंने सुप्रीम कोर्ट के फैसलों का भी हवाला दिया है. उन्होंने कहा कि कैंडिडेट की ईमानदारी और अनुभव का भी ध्यान रखा जाना चाहिए. खड़गे ने कहा कि सरकार द्वारा चुने गए नाम के करियर प्रोफाइल में करप्शन के खिलाफ जांच का जीरो अनुभव है.
