केरल। कुछ प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटियां (पीसीसी) राहुल गांधी को पार्टी अध्यक्ष बनाने के लिए प्रस्ताव पारित कर रही हैं, लेकिन पार्टी महासचिव जयराम रमेश ने मंगलवार को कहा कि इस तरह के कदमों का कोई बाध्यकारी प्रभाव नहीं है। कांग्रेस नेता शशि थरूर के पार्टी अध्यक्ष का चुनाव लड़ने के संकेत के बीच रमेश ने यह भी कहा कि कोई भी इस पद के लिए लड़ सकता है, लेकिन व्यक्तिगत रूप से वह किसी एक उम्मीदवार को लेकर आम-सहमति बनने के पक्षधर हैं। ‘भारत जोड़ो यात्रा’ के विश्राम के दौरान उन्होंने संवाददाताओं से कहा कि अगर आम-सहमति नहीं बनती तो पार्टी चुनाव के लिए तैयार है और प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटियों के 9,000 प्रतिनिधि लोकतांत्रिक तरीके से अध्यक्ष का चुनाव करेंगे।
सात प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटियों के राहुल गांधी को पार्टी अध्यक्ष बनाने के लिए प्रस्ताव पारित करने के बारे में पूछने पर पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री ने कहा कि कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ता उत्साह में हैं, क्योंकि वे पिछले 13 दिन से राहुल गांधी को पदयात्रा करते हुए देख रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘लेकिन किसी ने किसी को कोई प्रस्ताव पारित करने को नहीं कहा। राहुल गांधी ने किसी को कोई प्रस्ताव पारित करने को नहीं कहा। कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष ने किसी से नहीं कहा। कांग्रेस के कार्यकर्ता उत्साह में हैं। वे पिछले 13 दिन से राहुल को पदयात्रा करते देख रहे हैं। वह देख रहे हैं कि हर रोज वह कितनी पीड़ा सह रहे हैं। वे सभी उनसे खुद को जोड़ सकते हैं। प्रस्ताव पारित करना स्वाभाविक है। लेकिन उनका कोई बाध्यकारी प्रभाव नहीं है।’’
रमेश ने साफ किया कि राहुल गांधी चुनाव लड़ेंगे या नहीं, यह 24 से 30 सितंबर के बीच पता चलेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि इस समय कांग्रेस का ध्यान राहुल गांधी की ‘भारत जोड़ो यात्रा’ पर है। उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘कोई भी चुनाव लड़ने को स्वतंत्र है। यह एक खुली प्रक्रिया है। आपको राहुल गांधी या सोनिया गांधी से अनुमति की जरूरत नहीं है। अगर आपके समर्थन में 10 पीसीसी प्रतिनिधि हैं तो आप नामांकन पत्र दाखिल कर सकते हैं और 17 अक्टूबर को चुनाव होंगे।’’ रमेश ने कहा कि अगर कोई नामांकन पत्र दाखिल नहीं करता और किसी एक उम्मीदवार पर आम-सहमति बनती है तो एक अक्टूबर को नये अध्यक्ष की घोषणा की जाएगी।
