प्रयागराज। सोमवार को मौनी अमावस्या पर दो करोड़ से अधिक श्रद्धालुओं ने यहां कुंभ मेले में गंगा और संगम में आस्था की डुबकी लगायी. आईसीसीसी के एक अधिकारी ने बताया कि रविवार शाम छह बजे तक एक करोड़ से अधिक लोगों ने स्नान किया था और रविवार रात्रि 12 बजे से सोमवार सुबह सात तक एक करोड़ से अधिक लोग स्नान कर चुके हैं.
उन्होंने बताया कि सोमवती अमावस्या होने की वजह से स्नान के लिए बड़ी संख्या में श्रद्धालु रात से ही मेला क्षेत्र में डटे हुए हैं. अधिकारी ने बताया कि शाम तक 3-4 करोड़ लोगों के स्नान करने की उम्मीद है. मौनी अमावस्या पर बड़ी संख्या में लोगों के आने की उम्मीद होने के मद्देनजर सुरक्षा के पुख्ता इंतजाम किये गये हैं.
अपर पुलिस महानिदेशक एसएन साबत ने कहा, मकर संक्रांति के स्नान की तुलना में हमने सुरक्षा बलों की संख्या बढ़ा दी है. आपात स्थिति से निबटने का भी अभ्यास किया गया है. साथ ही रेलवे की निगरानी व्यवस्था और मेले की निगरानी व्यवस्था के बीच सामंजस्य स्थापित किया गया है.
आइजी (कुंभ मेला) केपी सिंह ने बताया था, सभी महत्वपूर्ण मार्गों पर अर्द्धसैनिक बल तैनात किये गये हैं. प्रयागराज के मंडलायुक्त आशीष गोयल ने कहा, हमने भीड़ नियंत्रण, सफाई व्यवस्था, चिकित्सा व्यवस्था के लिए संबंधित विभागों के साथ बैठक की है. मैंने आइजी और एडीजी के साथ नगर का हवाई सर्वेक्षण करके स्थिति का जायजा लिया है. सभी जगह स्थिति नियंत्रण में है.
