मेलबर्न। आस्ट्रेलिया के पूर्व खिलाड़ी एलन बॉर्डर ने कहा कि इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग महज पैसा कमाने का धंधा है और इस साल होने वाले T20 वर्ल्ड कप पर इसे तरजीह देने की अनुमति नहीं दी जा सकती। ऐसी अटकलें लगाई जा रही हैं कि अगर ऑस्ट्रेलिया में टी20 वर्ल्ड कप स्थगित हो जाता है तो कोविड-19 महामारी के चलते अनिश्चितकाल के लिए स्थगित हुए आईपीएल का 13वां चरण अक्टूबर-नवंबर में आयोजित किया जा सकता है।

बॉर्डर ने एबीसी के ‘ग्रैंडस्टैंड कैफे रेडियो’ कार्यक्रम में कहा, ‘मैं इससे खुश नहीं हूं। विश्व संस्था के टूर्नमेंट को स्थानीय प्रतियोगिता पर तवज्जो दी जानी चाहिए। इसलिए अगर वर्ल्ड टी20 नहीं हो सकता तो मुझे नहीं लगता कि आईपीएल आयोजित हो सकता है। मैं इस फैसले पर सवाल उठाऊंगा.. यह सिर्फ पैसा कमाने का धंधा है, क्या ऐसा नहीं है?’

उन्होंने कहा, ‘विश्व टी20 को निश्चितरूप से तरजीह दी जानी चाहिए। घरेलू बोर्ड को अपने खिलाड़ियों को आईपीएल में खेलने जाने से रोकना चाहिए।’ ऑस्ट्रेलिया के पैट कमिंस आईपीएल में सबसे ज्यादा कमाई 15.50 करोड़ रुपये करने वाले गैर भारतीय खिलाड़ी हैं।

ग्लेन मैक्सवेल और डेविड वार्नर के भी अपनी फ्रैंचाइजी से लुभावने अनुबंध हैं। बॉर्डर जानते हैं कि विश्व क्रिकेट में भारत का काफी दबदबा है क्योंकि वह ICC के राजस्व में सबसे ज्यादा योगदान करता है लेकिन उन्होंने कहा कि अगर आईपीएल को T20 विश्व कप पर तवज्जो दी जाती है तो यह ‘गलत रास्ते पर जा रहा है।’
