श्रीनगर। हंदवाड़ा में शनिवार रात से जारी एनकाउंटर में सेना की 21 राष्ट्रीय राइफल्स के कमांडिंग ऑफिसर कर्नल आशुतोष शर्मा सहित 5 जवान शहीद हो गए। मुठभेड़ के दौरान सेना ने दो आतंकियों को मार गिराया। जिनमें से एक लश्कर-ए-तैयबा का टॉप कमांडर हैदर था। आतंकियों के छिपे होने की खबर के बाद उत्तरी कश्मीर के एक घर में सुरक्षाबलों ने हमला बोला। आतंकियों ने घर के लोगों को बंधक बनाकर रखा था, उन्हीं को बचाने सेना और पुलिस की टीम गई थी। इन लोगों को सुरक्षाबलों ने छुड़वा लिया।

शहीद होने वालों में कर्नल आशुतोष के अलावा, मेजर अनुज, सब इंस्पेक्टर शकील काजी, एक लांस नायक और एक राइफलमैन शामिल हैं। मुठभेड़ हंदवाड़ा के छांजीमुल्लाह गांव में शनिवार दोपहर 3 बजे शुरू हुई थी। कर्नल आशुतोष को पिछले ही साल दूसरी बार सेना मेडल मिला था। वे गार्ड्स रेजिमेंट से थे और इलाहाबाद के रहने वाले थे।

5 साल बाद आतंकी मुठभेड़ में कमांडिंग ऑफिसर शहीद
सेना ने जम्मू-कश्मीर में पांच साल बाद आतंकी मुठभेड़ में कमांडिंग ऑफिसर खोया है। इसके पहले 2015 में कुपवाड़ा के हाजीनाका जंगल में आतंकी मुठभेड़ में 41 राष्ट्रीय राइफल्स के कमांडिंग ऑफिसर कर्नल संतोष महाडिक शहीद हुए थे। वे महाराष्ट्र के रहने वाले थे। कर्नल संतोष महाडिक की पत्नी स्वाति ने 2017 में सेना ज्वॉइन की थी।

27 जनवरी 2015 को 42 राष्ट्रीय राइफल्स के कमांडिंग ऑफिसर कर्नल एमएन राय कश्मीर के त्राल में मुठभेड़ के दौरान शहीद हुए थे। कर्नल राय गोरखा रेजिमेंट से थे और उत्तर प्रदेश के गाजीपुर के रहनेवाले थे। उन्हें मरणोपरांत शौर्य चक्र से सम्मानित किया गया था।
कश्मीर के कोर कमांडर रह चुके रिटायर्ड लेफ्टिनेट जनरल सतीश दुआ के मुताबिक, इन बहादुरों की कुर्बानी को सलाम करता हूं। जहां एक ओर दुख है, वहीं दूसरी ओर फख्र है।

18 घंटे चले एनकाउंटर की पूरी कहानी
 शनिवार को सेना को पुख्ता खबर मिली कि हंदवाड़ा के जंगली इलाकों में आतंकी छिपे हुए हैं। इसके फौरन बाद सेना ने इलाके में सर्च ऑपरेशन चलाया। हालांकि, इसमें किसी भी आतंकी का पता नहीं चला था। दोपहर 3 बजे के आसपास सेना को फिर खबर मिली कि जंगली इलाके से 3 किमी दूर छाजीमुल्लाह गांव के एक घर में कुछ आतंकी बैठे हुए हैं और उन्होंने लोगों को बंधक बना रखा है।

सुरक्षाबलों ने बंधकों को छुड़वाने के लिए ऑपरेशन शुरू किया। टीम का नेतृत्व 21 राष्ट्रीय राइफल्स के कमांडिग ऑफिसर आशुतोष शर्मा खुद कर रहे थे। उनके साथ एक मेजर और जम्मू-कश्मीर के पुलिस जवानों को मिलाकर 5 लोगों की टीम थी।

जब जवान घर के भीतर गए तो आतंकी पास में बने गाय के बाड़े में छिपे थे। सुरक्षाबलों ने घर से लोगों को सुरक्षित बाहर निकाल लिया। तभी आतंकियों ने गोलीबारी शुरू कर दी। इस बीच सुरक्षाबलों से कोई भी खबर आनी बंद हो गई। कई घंटे तक सुरक्षाबलों से संपर्क कटा रहा। माना जा रहा है कि आतंकियों ने सुरक्षाबलों की कम्युनिकेशन डिवाइस ले ली थी।

मुठभेड़ वाले इलाके में शनिवार रातभर भारी बारिश होती रही। इस बीच मुठभेड़ भी चलती रही। रविवार सुबह 7 बजे के आसपास फायरिंग रुकी। इसके बाद सेना ने घर की छानबीन की। तब पता चला कि सेना की कार्रवाई में दो आतंकी मारे गए, लेकिन इस दौरान कर्नल आशुतोष शर्मा समेत 5 जवान शहीद भी हो गए।
