हेमंत रुपरेल टीवी के सबसे सफल प्रड्यूसर्स में से एक हैं। वह ‘डांस इंडिया डांस’, ‘सुपर डांसर’, ‘डांस प्लस’, ‘द कपिल शर्मा शो’ जैसे शोज प्रोडूस कर चुके हैं। उन्होंने अपने व्यस्त कार्यक्रम से एक छोटा ब्रेक लेने का फैसला किया और निकल पड़े रो़ड ट्रिप पर। यह कोई छोटी मोटी ट्रिप नहीं बल्कि भारत से इंग्लैंड तक की रोड ट्रिप थी। इस यात्रा में उनकी साथी थीं उनकी 63 वर्षीय मां सुधा रुपरेल।
उन्होंने 50 दिन की यह यात्रा मणिपुर में इंफाल से शुरू की और 18 देशों से होते हुए 16 हजार किलोमीटर तय करके 2 जून को इंग्लैंड पहुंचे। तुषार अग्रवाल और संजय मदान द्वारा संचालित इस यात्रा में मां-बेटे ने चुनौतीपूर्ण इलाकों, ऑफ-बीट ट्रैक, माउंटेन पास और एक्सप्रेसवे को पार किया। वे मध्य एशिया में सिल्क रूट और जर्मनी में ऑटोबान होते हुए ब्रिटिश राजधानी तक पहुंचे।
अपने अनुभव के बारे में बताते हुए हेमंत कहते हैं, ‘मैंने दुनिया भर में खूब ट्रैवल किया है, लेकिन अपनी मां के साथ लंदन की 50 दिन की रोड ट्रिप जिंदगी भर याद रहेगी। इसे शब्दों में बयां नहीं किया जा सकता है।’
उनकी मां सुधा ने कहा, ‘शुरू में मैं इसे लेकर झिझक रही थी। उसके साथ विश्व कप के लिए सड़क पर उतरूं, मेरे बेटे का ऐसा सुझाव देना भी मुझे उसका पागलपन लग रहा था। लेकिन अब, मुझे लगता है कि उम्र कोई बाधा नहीं है, हेमंत के उत्साह और जुनून ने मुझे यह विश्वास दिलाया।’
