विश्वविद्यालय के अधिकारियों ने बताया कि ह्यूस्टन यूनिवर्सिटी 1927 में स्थापित किया गया सार्वजनिक शोध महाविद्यालय है। विश्वविद्यालय ने अपनी इंजिनियरिंग रिसर्च बिल्डिंग का नाम 26 अप्रैल को डॉ दुर्गा डी अग्रवाल एवं सुशीला अग्रवाल के नाम पर रख दिया। इमारत का नाम उनको समर्पित किए जाने को लेकर आयोजित कार्यक्रम में भारतीय मूल की अमेरिकी कुलपति एवं विश्वविद्यालय की प्रमुख रेणु खातोर, भारत के महावाणिज्य दूत डॉ अनुपम रे, भारतीय समुदाय के सदस्य, विद्यार्थी एवं प्राध्यापक उपस्थित थे।
