विदेश मंत्री सुषमा स्वराज शंघाई सहयोग संगठन की बैठक में करेंगी भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व

नेशनल डेस्क। विदेश मंत्री सुषमा स्वराज किर्गिज गणराज्य की राजधानी बिश्केक में मंगलवार से शुरू होने जा रही शंघाई सहयोग संगठन (एससीओ) की दो दिवसीय बैठक में हिस्सा लेंगी। माना जा रहा है कि इस बैठक में आतंकवाद सहित विभिन्न सामयिक मुद्दों पर चर्चा की जाएगी। यह दूसरा मौका है जब भारत विदेश मंत्रियों की परिषद (सीएफएम) बैठक में एससीओ के पूर्ण सदस्य के तौर पर शामिल हो रहा है।

13-14 जून को होगा एससीओ का शिखर सम्मेलन
विदेश मंत्रालय ने एक बयान में बताया कि सीएफएम अंतरराष्ट्रीय और क्षेत्रीय महत्व के शीर्ष मुद्दों पर चर्चा करेगी तथा बिश्केक में 13-14 जून को होने जा रहे एससीओ शिखर सम्मेलन की तैयारियों की समीक्षा करेगी। मंत्रालय ने बताया कि विदेश मंत्री सुषमा स्वराज इस बैठक में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करेंगी।

मंत्रालय ने कहा, ‘भारत पिछले एक साल से अधिक समय से किर्गिज गणराज्य की अध्यक्षता में संपन्न एससीओ के विभिन्न वार्ता व्यवस्था में सक्रिय भागीदारी करता रहा है।’ आगे मंत्रालय ने कहा कि बिश्केक में सुषमा स्वराज एससीओ के विदेश मंत्रियों के साथ किर्गिज राष्ट्रपति सूरनबाय जीनबेकोव से संयुक्त मुलाकात भी करेंगी। पिछले माह रक्षा मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने बिश्केक में एससीओ के रक्षा मंत्रियों की बैठक में हिस्सा लिया था।

भारत बना 2017 में समूह का पूर्णकालिक सदस्य
भारत 2017 में इस समूह का पूर्णकालिक सदस्य बना था। भारत एससीओ तथा इसके क्षेत्रीय आतंकवाद रोधी ढांचे (आरएटीएस) के साथ सुरक्षा संबंधी सहयोग को गहरा करना चाहता है। आरएटीएस के दायित्वों में सुरक्षा एवं रक्षा संबंधी मुद्दों का समाधान करना शामिल है।

साल 2017 में भारत के साथ साथ पाकिस्तान को भी एससीओ की सदस्यता प्रदान की गई थी। एससीओ की स्थापना 2001 में शंघाई में संपन्न एक शिखर सम्मेलन में रूस, चीन, किर्गिज गणराज्य, कजाकिस्तान, ताजिकिस्तान और उज्बेकिस्तान के राष्ट्रपतियों ने की थी।
