मनमोहन पर कटाक्ष
यूपीए की सरकार के समय जब एक के बाद एक घोटाले सामने आ रहे थे, तब लोकसभा में विपक्ष की नेता के पद पर रहते हुए सुषमा ने तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह के लिए कहा था, ‘‘तू इधर-उधर की बात न कर, ये बता कि काफिला क्यों लुटा? मुझे रहजनों से गिला नहीं, तेरी रहबरी का सवाल है।’’ कुछ दिनों बाद इसी शेर को आगे बढ़ाते हुए मनमोहन के लिए कहा था, ‘‘मैं बताऊं कि काफिला क्यों लुटा, तेरा रहजनों (लुटेरों) से वास्ता था और इसी का हमें मलाल है।

सुषमा स्वराज ने इसी साल अप्रैल में कहा था कि जिस परिवार के 2-2 लोग आतंकवाद का शिकार हुए हों, उस परिवार का बेटा कह रहा है कि आतंकवाद कोई मुद्दा नहीं है। राहुल जी, अगर आतंकवाद कोई मुद्दा नहीं है तो आप एसपीजी की सुरक्षा लिए क्यों चलते हैं?

तो मुझे मजाकिया नहीं होना चाहिए
सुषमा का ट्विटर पर अंदाज भी अलग होता था। एक बार एक यूजर ने उनसे कहा कि आप तो राहुल गांधी से भी ज्यादा मजाकिया हैं। इस पर सुषमा ने जवाब दिया कि अगर ऐसा है तो मुझे अब मजाकिया नहीं होना चाहिए।

ललित मोदी से जुड़े विवाद का दृढ़ता से सामना किया
2015 में कांग्रेस ने सुषमा स्वराज पर आरोप लगाया कि उन्होंने ललित मोदी की मदद की है। इस पर सुषमा ने कहा था कि ललित मोदी की पत्नी 17 साल से कैंसर से जूझ रही हैं। उन्हें दसवीं बार कैंसर उभरा है। उनका पुर्तगाल में इलाज होना था। उनकी मौत भी हो सकती थी या दोनों किडनी खराब हो सकती थीं। सुषमा ने कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी से पूछा था कि अगर मेरी जगह आप होतीं तो क्या करतीं? मैंने न ललित मोदी को फायदा पहुंचाया, न उन्हें भगाया। सिर्फ मानवता के नाते उनकी पत्नी की मदद की।

संयुक्त राष्ट्र में हिंदी में भाषण
सुषमा स्वराज संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा में बतौर विदेश मंत्री हिंदी में दिए अपने भाषणों के लिए याद रखी जाएंगी। ऐसे ही एक भाषण में उन्होंने पाकिस्तान के तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री नवाज शरीफ से कहा था, ‘‘आप हमारी नीति पर सवाल उठाते हैं। पाकिस्तान के साथ बातचीत को लेकर नवाज शरीफ जी ने पहले भी 4 फॉर्मूला सुझाए थे, तब भी हमने कहा था कि फॉर्मूला केवल एक है। पाकिस्तान आतंकवाद को छोड़ दे। जब सीमा पर जनाजे उठ रहे हों, तो बातचीत की आवाज अच्छी नहीं लगती।’’

सुषमा ने कहा था, ‘”जो लोग कहते हैं कि मैं केवल ट्विटर हैंडलिंग करती हूं तो ये वो नीति है, जो कांग्रेस के जमाने में नहीं थी। जो मंत्रालय आम लोगों से दूर था, उसे जनता से जोड़ने का काम हम कर रहे हैं। ये (कांग्रेस) संवेदनहीन लोग क्या जानें। जिस दिन इन लोगों के घर का कोई शख्स विदेश में फंसेगा, तो फिर इन्हें समझ में आएगा।’’

सुषमा स्वराज 6 राज्यों की चुनावी राजनीति में सक्रिय रहीं
हरियाणा : सुषमा ने सबसे पहला चुनाव 1977 में लड़ा। तब वे 25 साल की थीं। वे हरियाणा की अंबाला सीट से चुनाव जीतकर देश की सबसे युवा विधायक बनीं। उन्हें हरियाणा की देवीलाल सरकार में मंत्री भी बनाया गया। इस तरह वे किसी राज्य की सबसे युवा मंत्री रहीं।

दिल्ली : 1996 में हुए लोकसभा चुनाव में सुषमा दक्षिण दिल्ली से सांसद बनी थीं। इसके बाद 13 दिन की अटलजी की सरकार में उन्हें केंद्रीय सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्री बनाया गया। 1998 में वे दोबारा अटलजी की सरकार में मंत्री बनीं, लेकिन इस्तीफा देकर दिल्ली की पहली महिला मुख्यमंत्री बनीं।

उत्तर प्रदेश और उत्तराखंड : सुषमा 2000 में उत्तर प्रदेश से राज्यसभा सदस्य चुनी गईं। जब उत्तर प्रदेश के विभाजन के बाद उत्तराखंड बना तो वे बतौर राज्यसभा सदस्य वहां भी सक्रिय रहीं।

कर्नाटक : 1999 में उन्होंने बेल्लारी लोकसभा सीट पर तत्कालीन कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी के खिलाफ चुनाव लड़ा। उन्होंने सिर्फ 12 दिन प्रचार किया। लेकिन सिर्फ 7% वोटों से हार गईं।

मध्यप्रदेश : सुषमा 2009 और 2014 में विदिशा से लोकसभा चुनाव जीतीं। 2014 से 2019 तक वे विदेश मंत्री रहीं और दुनियाभर में भारतीयों को उन्होंने एक ट्वीट पर मदद मुहैया कराई। उन्होंने स्वास्थ्य कारणों के चलते 2019 का लोकसभा चुनाव नहीं लड़ने का फैसला किया था।

1973 में सुप्रीम कोर्ट में वकालत शुरू की
सुषमा स्वराज का जन्म 14 फरवरी 1952 को हरियाणा के अंबाला में हुआ था। उनका परिवार राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ से जुड़ा था। उन्होंने पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी से कानून की पढ़ाई की और 1973 में सुप्रीम कोर्ट में वकील के तौर पर प्रैक्टिस शुरू की। सुषमा का स्वराज कौशल से 1975 में विवाह हुआ। स्वराज कौशल वकील हैं। वे मिजोरम के गवर्नर भी रह चुके हैं। 1990 में देश के सबसे युवा गवर्नर बने, तब उनकी उम्र 37 साल थी। 1998 में वे हरियाणा विकास पार्टी के उम्मीदवार के रूप में राज्यसभा सदस्य चुने गए। सुषमा को एक बेटी बांसुरी हैं। बांसुरी भी वकील हैं।
