बिजनेस डेस्क। देश की सबसे बड़ी ऑटोमोबाइल कंपनी मारुति सुजुकी (Maruti Suzuki) अगले साल अप्रैल से डीजल गाड़ियां बनाना बंद कर देगी। मारुति का करीब 51 फीसदी कार मार्केट पर कब्जा है। कंपनी ने 2018-19 में करीब 4 लाख डीजल गाड़ियां (कुल घरेलू बिक्री का 23 फीसदी) बेची हैं। कंपनी डीजल कारें बनाना इसलिए बंद कर रही है क्योंकि अगले साल से लागू होने वाले BS6 एमिशन नॉर्म्स से जुड़ी मैन्युफैक्चरिंग कॉस्ट काफी ज्यादा है। यानी, डीजल इंजन को BS-VI नॉर्म्स के मुताबिक अपग्रेड करने में काफी लागत आती है।

मारुति सुजुकी दो दशक पहले अपनी कारों में डीजल इंजन लेकर आई
1.मारुति जेन (ZEN) में सबसे पहले 1998 में डीजल इंजन आया।
2.कंपनी अपने 8 मॉडल में डीजल इंजन ऑफर करती है। इनमें से दो (Brezza और S-Cross SUV) केवल डीजल में हैं, इनका कोई पेट्रोल वेरियंट नहीं है।
3.स्विफ्ट, बलेनो, डिजायर, अर्टिगा MPV, सियाज सेडान और लाइट-कमर्शल वीइकल सुपर कैरी पेट्रोल और डीजल दोनों ऑप्शन में आ रही हैं।
4.मारुति सुजुकी के चेयरमैन आर सी भार्गव ने डीजल कारों के फ्यूचर के बारे में कहा, ‘अगले साल अप्रैल से मारुति के पास सेल के लिए कोई डीजल कार नहीं होगी। जिन लोगों को डीजल कारों से प्यार है, उन्हें अभी ये कार खरीद लेनी चाहिए। यह उनके लिए आखिरी मौका है।’
5.कंपनी 2019 के आखिर तक डीजल वेरियंट्स का प्रॉडक्शन बंद कर सकती है, क्योंकि अप्रैल 2020 से नए और सख्त BS-VI नॉर्म्स लागू होने के बाद पुराना/बचा हुआ स्टॉक बेचने की इजाजत नहीं होगी।
6.छोटी कारों में BS-VI नॉर्म्स के मुताबिक डीजल इंजन को अपग्रेड करने का खर्च काफी ज्यादा है। भार्गव के मुताबिक, कीमत में बढ़ोतरी के बाद डीजल इंजन वाली कारें ग्राहकों के लिए व्यवहारिक नहीं रह जाएंगी।
7.पिछले कुछ सालों से डीजल कारों का मार्केट लगातार घट रहा है, क्योंकि पेट्रोल और डीजल की कीमतों का अंतर कम हो रहा है। साथ ही, डीजल कारों के फ्यूचर को लेकर अनिश्चितता लगातार बढ़ रही है। डीजल वेरियंट्स, पेट्रोल के मुकाबले कहीं ज्यादा महंगे भी हैं।
8.मारुति सुजुकी के इस फैसले के बाद दूसरी ऑटोमोबाइल कंपनियों को अपनी योजनाओं पर दोबारा विचार करना पड़ सकता है। मौजूदा समय में महिंद्रा एंड महिंद्रा, टाटा मोटर्स और टोयोटा को डीजल मॉडल्स से बड़ा वॉल्यूम मिल रहा है। Hyundai भी इस कैटगरी को बढ़ा रही है।
9.मारुति सुजुकी, डीजल कारों की भरपाई के लिए कम्प्रेस्ड नेचुरल गैस (CNG) और हाइब्रिड टेक्नॉलजी से चलने वाली कारों पर अपना फोकस बढ़ाने की कोशिश करेगी।
10.वित्त वर्ष 2018-19 में देश में बिकीं कुल कारों में डीजल मॉडल्स की हिस्सेदारी 19 फीसदी थी, जो कि 2012-13 में 47 फीसदी के करीब रही। हालांकि, SUV/UV सेगमेंट में अब भी डीजल वेरियंट्स का दबदबा है।
