राज्यसभा की 2 सीटे खाली,एक सीट पर विदेश मंत्री को राज्यसभा भेज सकती है भाजपा

नई दिल्ली। मोदी सरकार-2 में विदेश मंत्री बनने के बाद एस जयशंकर को गुजरात से राज्यसभा सदस्य बनाया जा सकता है। सोमवार को भाजपा सूत्रों ने यह जानकारी दी। जयशंकर फिलहाल सांसद नहीं हैं। नियम के मुताबिक, मंत्री पद की शपथ लेने के छह महीने के भीतर उन्हें लोकसभा या राज्यसभा का सदस्य बनना होगा।

लोकसभा चुनाव में गृह मंत्री अमित शाह के गुजरात की गांधीनगर और केंद्रीय मंत्री स्मृति ईरानी के अमेठी से चुनाव जीतने के बाद गुजरात में दो राज्यसभा सीटें खाली हुई हैं। इसी तरह बिहार में भी केंद्रीय मंत्री रविशंकर प्रसाद के लोकसभा पहुंचने से राज्यसभा में उनकी सीट खाली हो गई है। उन्होंने पटना साहिब सीट पर कांग्रेस के शत्रुघ्न सिन्हा को हराया था।

पासवान को बिहार से राज्यसभा भेजा जाएगा
सूत्रों के मुताबिक, बिहार में खाली हुई राज्यसभा सीट एनडीए के सहयोगी लोजपा प्रमुख और केंद्रीय मंत्री रामविलास पासवान को दी जाएगी। बताया जा रहा है कि भाजपा नेतृत्व चाहता था कि एनडीए की सहयोगी अन्नाद्रमुक अपने कोटे से जयशंकर को उच्च सदन भेजे, लेकिन अन्नाद्रमुक अपनी सीट देने के लिए राजी नहीं हुई। जयशंकर तमिलनाडु से ही आते हैं।

विदेश सचिव थे जयशंकर, रिटायरमेंट के बाद मंत्री बने
जयशंकर पूर्व विदेश मंत्री सुषमा स्वराज के कार्यकाल में 2015 से 2018 के बीच विदेश सचिव थे। रिटायरमेंट के 16 महीने बाद प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने चौंकाने वाला फैसला लेते हुए उन्हें मंत्रिमंडल में शामिल किया। विदेश मंत्री की जिम्मेदारी मिलने के बाद जयशंकर ने पहले ट्वीट में कहा था कि सुषमाजी के पद चिह्नों पर चलना उनके लिए गर्व की बात है।
