नई दिल्ली। चीन और पाकिस्तान के पर्वतीय क्षेत्रों के जरिए भारत में होने वाली किसी भी तरह के अतिक्रमण को रोकने के लिए रक्षा मंत्रालय आकाश प्राइम मिसाइल की दो रेजीमेंट का अधिग्रहण करने के प्रस्ताव पर चर्चा के लिए तैयार हो गया है। जिस पर आज बैठिक भी होगी। इन मिसाइलों को 15,000 फीट की ऊंचाई पर तैनात किया जाएगा। नई आकाश मिसाइलों की परफॉर्मेंस पूर्ववर्ती मिसाइलों की तुलना में बेहतर होगी। इन्हें ऊंचे स्थानों जैसे कि लद्दाख पर तैनात किया जाएगा क्योंकि इसकी सीमा पाकिस्तान और चीन दोनों से लगती हैं।
एक सरकारी सूत्र ने कहा, ‘रक्षा मंत्रालय सेना के 10,000 करोड़ रुपये के प्रस्ताव पर चर्चा के लिए तैयार हो गई है जिसके तहत आकाश प्राइम या बेहतर प्रदर्शन वाली आकाश मिसाइल की दो रेजीमेंट का अधिग्रहण किया जाएगा। आकाश प्राइम मिसाइल सेना के पास मौजूद मिसाइल सिस्टम का अपग्रेडिड वर्जन होगी।’
सेनाध्यक्ष जनरल बिपिन रावत और रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह के लद्दाख से वापस आने पर रक्षा अधिग्रहण परिषद की होने वाली बैठक में इस प्रस्ताव पर चर्चा होगी। रक्षा मंत्री पूर्वी लद्दाख में दुरबुक और दौलत बेग ओल्डी के बीच बने कर्नल चेवांग रिंचेन पुल का उद्घाटन करेंगे। आकाश मिसाइल का निर्माण भारत में रक्षा अनुसंधान विकास परिषद (डीआरडीओ) ने किया था और रक्षा बलों ने इसे काफी सफल माना है।
सेना के पास पहले से ही आकाश मिसाइल की दो रेजीमेंट हैं और वह दो अन्य चाहता है जिन्हें कि पाकिस्तान और चीन की सीमा पर तैनात किया जा सके। सेना को मिसाइल सिस्टम की सर्विस को लेकर कुछ परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है क्योंकि इसका उत्पादन दो कंपनियां- भारत इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स लिमिटेड और भारत डायनामिक्स लिमिटेड करती हैं। इसके बावजूद वह मिसाइल की परफॉर्मेंस से काफी खुश है।
पहले आकाश मिसाइल की दो रेजीमेंट के ऑर्डर को विदेशी विक्रेताओं को दिया जाना था लेकिन नरेंद्र मोदी सरकार ने रक्षा में ‘मेक इन इंडिया’ के पक्ष में फैसला किया। हाल ही में प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता वाली केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल की सुरक्षा संबंधी समिति ने वायुसेना के लिए सतह से हवा में मिसाइल के सात स्क्वाड्रन खरीदने की परियोजना को मंजूरी दी।
